Themed "New Quality Productive Forces, New Future for Agriculture", this year's Yangling Agricultural Hi-tech Fair comprises four sections: indoor exhibitions, field exhibitions, online exhibitions and overseas exhibitions. As one of the nine indoor exhibitions, the Shaanxi Characteristic Modern Agriculture Exhibition presents the province's progress in agriculture, rural areas and farmers, and in fostering new quality productive forces.
At the Baoji, Yan'an, Hanzhong, Ankang and Shangluo pavilions, kiwifruit, Luochuan apples, Hanzhong rice, selenium-rich foods and Zhashui wood ear mushrooms were on full display. Zhao Yide and Zhao Gang heard reports on industry scale, market sales and brand building, stressing deeper processing of agricultural products and the need to improve risk-sharing and benefit-sharing mechanisms so that industrial development and farmers' incomes grow together. At the Xi'an, Tongchuan and Yulin pavilions, they learned about frontier agricultural technologies and innovation, and asked about progress in building the water-saving agriculture pilot zone for drylands, emphasising faster adoption of artificial intelligence and joint efforts in breeding research. At the Xianyang, Weinan and Xixian New Area pavilions, they asked about the supply of grain, meat, eggs, milk, fruit and vegetables, stressing the political responsibility of food security, stable grain acreage and high-standard farmland construction.
At the provincial association for science and technology pavilion, they inspected rapid agricultural testing, disaster-reduction and breeding equipment; at the Communist Youth League pavilion, they learned about livestreaming support for farmers and youth entrepreneurship programmes; and at the women's federation pavilion, they viewed intangible cultural heritage handicrafts and heard about women-led industries, encouraging stronger platforms, skills training and project support for women in rural revitalisation.
During the tour, Zhao Yide and Zhao Gang stressed the need to study and implement General Secretary Xi Jinping's important statements on agriculture, rural areas and farmers, to give priority to agricultural and rural development, to apply the experience of the "Ten Million Project", and to strengthen factor guarantees and inter-departmental coordination so that the agricultural base becomes more solid, rural areas more prosperous and farmers' lives better.
